Wireless 802.11n Building Upgrades

A major focus area for ITS is wireless coverage and the migration to 802.11n Wireless Technologies. The high penetration and use of wireless devices across all areas of campus is challenging some original coverage designs previously unintended to have full wireless coverage.  In the fall of 2010, ITS chose ARUBA as the next generation wireless technology solution to be deployed on campus.

A project to deploy this new 802.11n service across campus is underway. The project will result in a complete overhaul of the existing wireless environment and a redesign of wireless coverage in each building on campus. The new 802.11n technology will provide improved performance for both 802.11n and non-802.11n Wi-Fi devices on campus.
